शकुनिरुवाच दुर्योधन न तेऽमर्षः कार्यः प्रति युधिष्ठिरम् भागधेयानि हि स्वानि पाण्डवा भुञ्जते सदा
Śākuni said: "O Duryodhana! You should not feel any jealousy towards Yudhiṣṭhira, because the Pāṇḍava-s have always benefited from their good fortune.
शकुनि ने कहा: "हे दुर्योधन! तुम्हें युधिष्ठिर के प्रति कोई ईर्ष्या महसूस नहीं करनी चाहिए, क्योंकि पांडवों को हमेशा अपने अच्छे भाग्य से लाभ हुआ है।
In the past, you have tried to kill them with many means. But those tigers among men escaped because of their good fortune.
अतीत में, आपने उन्हें कई तरीकों से मारने की कोशिश की है। लेकिन वे मानव बाघ अपने अच्छे भाग्य के कारण बच निकले।
They obtained Draupadī as a wife and Drupada and his two sons as allies, and the valorous Vāsudeva as an ally in winning the earth.
उन्होंने द्रौपदी को पत्नी के रूप में, द्रुपद और उनके दोनों पुत्रों को सहयोगी के रूप में और वीर वासुदेव को पृथ्वी जीतने में सहयोगी के रूप में प्राप्त किया।
O lord of the earth! They obtained an undiminished share of paternal wealth and extended it through their own energy. What is there to lament in this?

Having satisfied the fire, Dhanañjayā obtained the great bow Gāṇḍīva, two inexhaustible quivers and other celestial weapons.
अग्नि को संतुष्ट करने के बाद, धनंजय ने महान धनुष गाण्डीव, दो अटूट तरकश और अन्य दिव्य हथियार प्राप्त किए।
He subdued the lords of the earth with that foremost among bows and the valour of his own arms. What is there to lament in this?
उसने श्रेष्ठ धनुषों और अपनी भुजाओं के पराक्रम से पृथ्वी के राजाओं को वश में कर लिया। इसमें शोक करने वाली क्या बात है?
He freed the dānava Māyā from being burnt by the fire. Savyasachi, the scorcher of enemies, then made him build that sabhā.
उन्होंने दानव माया को आग से जलने से मुक्त कर दिया। तब शत्रुओं को भस्म करने वाले सव्यसाची ने उससे वह सभा बनवाई।

तेन चैव मयेनोक्ताः किंकरा नाम राक्षसाः वहन्ति तां सभां भीमास्तत्र का परिदेवना
On Māyā's command, the terrible rākṣasa-s named Kiṅkara-s guard that sabhā. What is there to lament in this?
माया के आदेश पर, किंकर नामक भयानक राक्षस उस सभा की रक्षा करते थे। इसमें शोक करने वाली क्या बात है?
O king! O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! You have said that you have no allies. That is not true, because your mahāratha brothers are always there to help you.
हे राजा! हे भरत वंश के वंशज! आपने कहा है कि आपका कोई सहयोगी नहीं है. यह सत्य नहीं है, क्योंकि आपके महारथी भाई आपकी सहायता के लिए सदैव तत्पर रहते हैं।
The mighty archer Droṇa with his intelligent son, Rādheya the son of a sūta, the mahāratha Gautama,
शक्तिशाली धनुर्धर द्रोण अपने बुद्धिमान पुत्र, सूतपुत्र राधेय, महारथी गौतम के साथ,
I and my brothers, and the valorous Saumadatti are with you. With these as allies, conquer the entire world."
मैं और मेरे भाई तथा वीर सौमदत्ती आपके साथ हैं। इनके सहयोगियों के साथ, पूरी दुनिया पर विजय प्राप्त करें।"

दुर्योधन उवाच त्वया च सहितो राजन्नेतैश्चान्यैर्महारथैः एतानेव विजेष्यामि यदि त्वमनुमन्यसे
Duryodhana replied: "O king! If you permit, I will defeat them with you and the other mahāratha-s.
दुर्योधन ने उत्तर दिया: "हे राजा! यदि आप अनुमति दें, तो मैं उन्हें आपके और अन्य महारथियों के साथ हरा दूंगा।

एतेषु विजितेष्वद्य भविष्यति मही मम सर्वे च पृथिवीपालाः सभा सा च महाधना
When I have conquered them, the entire earth will be mine, and all the lords of the earth and the sabhā with its great riches."
जब मैं उन पर विजय प्राप्त कर लूंगा, तब सारी पृय्वी मेरी हो जाएगी, और पृय्वी के सब स्वामी और सभा अपनी बड़ी संपदा समेत मेरी हो जाएगी।''

शकुनिरुवाच धनंजयो वासुदेवो भीमसेनो युधिष्ठिरः नकुलः सहदेवश्च द्रुपदश्च सहात्मजैः
Śākuni said: "With the use of force, the masses of gods cannot defeat in battle Dhanañjayā, Vāsudeva, Bhīmasena, Yudhiṣṭhira, Nākula, Sahadeva and Drupada and his son.
शकुनि ने कहा: "बल के प्रयोग से, देवताओं की भीड़ धनंजय, वासुदेव, भीमसेन, युधिष्ठिर, नकुल, सहदेव और द्रुपद और उनके पुत्र को युद्ध में नहीं हरा सकती।
They are mahāratha-s, great archers, skilled in use of weapons and invincible in battle.
वे महारथ, महान धनुर्धर, हथियारों के उपयोग में कुशल और युद्ध में अजेय हैं।

अहं तु तद्विजानामि विजेतुं येन शक्यते युधिष्ठिरं स्वयं राजंस्तन्निबोध जुषस्व च
O king! But I know the means through which Yudhiṣṭhira himself can be conquered. Listen and act accordingly."
हे राजा! परंतु मैं उन साधनों को जानता हूं जिनके द्वारा स्वयं युधिष्ठिर पर विजय प्राप्त की जा सकती है। सुनो और तदनुसार कार्य करो।"

दुर्योधन उवाच अप्रमादेन सुहृदामन्येषां च महात्मनाम् यदि शक्या विजेतुं ते तन्ममाचक्ष्व मातुल
Duryodhana replied: "O maternal uncle! If there is a way to defeat them without any danger to our well-wishers and other great-souled ones, please tell me."
दुर्योधन ने उत्तर दिया, "हे मामा! यदि हमारे शुभचिंतकों तथा अन्य महात्माओं को कोई खतरा पहुँचाये बिना उन्हें परास्त करने का कोई उपाय हो तो कृपया मुझे बतायें।"

शकुनिरुवाच द्यूतप्रियश्च कौन्तेयो न च जानाति देवितुम् समाहूतश्च राजेन्द्रो न शक्ष्यति निवर्तितुम्
Śākuni said: "Kuntī's son loves to gamble with dice, but does not know how to play. If challenged to play, that Indra among kings will not be able to refuse.
शकुनि ने कहा: "कुंती के पुत्र को पासों से जुआ खेलना पसंद है, लेकिन वह खेलना नहीं जानता। यदि उसे खेलने के लिए चुनौती दी जाए, तो राजाओं में इंद्र इनकार नहीं कर पाएगा।
I am skilled in gambling with dice, there is no one on earth, or in the three worlds, who is my equal. Challenge Kuntī's son to a game of dice.
मैं पासों से जुआ खेलने में कुशल हूं, पृथ्वी पर या तीनों लोकों में कोई भी ऐसा नहीं है, जो मेरे बराबर का हो। कुंती के पुत्र को पासे के खेल में चुनौती दो।
O king! O bull among men! With my skill in dice, there is no doubt that I will win for you the kingdom and the blazing prosperity.
हे राजा! हे मनुष्यों में बैल! पासे में अपनी कुशलता से इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि मैं तुम्हारे लिए राज्य और चमकती हुई समृद्धि जीत लूँगा।

इदं तु सर्वं त्वं राज्ञे दुर्योधन निवेदय अनुज्ञातस्तु ते पित्रा विजेष्ये तं न संशयः
O Duryodhana! Tell the king all this. And if your father permits, there is no doubt that I will vanquish him."
हे दुर्योधन! राजा से यह सब कहो। और यदि तुम्हारे पिता आज्ञा दें तो इसमें कोई सन्देह नहीं कि मैं उन्हें परास्त कर दूँगा।"
Duryodhana replied: "O Saubala! You yourself say all this to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, foremost among the Kuru-s, in the proper way. I will not be able to do it."
दुर्योधन ने उत्तर दिया: "हे सौबल! आप ही यह सब कुरुवंशियों में श्रेष्ठ धृतराष्ट्र से उचित रीति से कहें। मैं ऐसा नहीं कर पाऊंगा।"
